Integral Pelvic Therapy

An IPT treatment track usually consists of one intake and several treatment sessions, the amount of which depends on your specific request and needs.

Intake

During this first session we will extensively discuss your personal and medical history as well as your specific request. I will explain how I work. I will give you some anatomical and physiological information about your complaint and explain if and how IPT can help. If appropriate we will discuss together a possible treatment plan and a trajectory duration. The hands-on treatment doesn’t start during the intake.

An intake takes approximately 1 hour and can eventually be done online.

Session

Before working on the treatment table, I will guide you on how to notice a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ in your body: a crucial step to establish safety in each session. Depending on your request I will work on the abdominal region and externally and/or internally with the pelvis. Different kinds of gentle massage techniques will be used from haptonomic touch to muscle and fascia release, which together help restore balance in the pelvic area.

During the whole session I will encourage you to stay in contact with the sensations in your body and your breath, to fully experience any feelings, memories or emotions that may arise in the moment. I will provide a safe space in which you will be invited to feel all that needs to be felt, experienced and expressed.

After the session you will get some small “homework” (mindfulness, breathing or physical exercises) to practice at home.

A session usually takes a little less than 2 hours.
